M40, M20, then the tunnel

From Birmingham we take the M40 and M25 to the M20, cross from Folkestone on Le Shuttle and join the A26/A1 into Paris - around six and three-quarter hours with a comfort stop on each side of the Channel.

Documents, checked before we roll

France requires a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate issued within 10 days of travel. We verify everything the day before departure, not at the terminal.

What to expect on this journey

Your chauffeur collects you and your pet at your address in Birmingham at the time that suits you. From there it is a calm, direct drive of around 355 miles - roughly 6 h 45 min door to door - in a private, climate-controlled vehicle. Your dog or cat stays beside you the whole way: no cargo hold, no handovers and no other animals on board, with comfort stops whenever your pet needs one.

At the Eurotunnel terminal we handle the pet check-in together - the microchip scan and document check usually take about 15 minutes - then your pet stays with you in the car for the 35-minute crossing. On the other side we drive straight to your final address in Central Paris, whether that is a hotel, a new home or a family doorstep.

The fare for Birmingham to Central Paris is fixed before you book and starts from £935. It covers the vehicle, your dedicated driver, tolls and as many comfort stops as your pet needs. The Eurotunnel ticket is paid separately at the terminal, and we never add weekend or holiday surcharges.
