Pet transport route
Relocating from Spain to the UK with your dog or cat? We collect you and your pet anywhere in Alicante or the Costa Blanca and drive the whole way to your UK address - up through Spain and France, then across the Channel by Eurotunnel Le Shuttle. Your pet stays beside you for the entire journey, never in a cargo hold.
Good to know on this route
A two-day grand tour done gently: day one runs Alicante to the Loire or Burgundy with plenty of stops, we book a pet-friendly hotel for you both, and day two covers the run to Calais, the tunnel and the final drive into London. Your pet's routine sets the pace - some clients do it in one very long day, but two days is kinder for older dogs.
Day one takes us from Alicante up the Mediterranean corridor past Barcelona and into France, with an overnight stop where your pet sleeps in the room with you. Day two crosses France to Calais, completes the pet check-in at Coquelles, and the 35-minute Le Shuttle crossing brings you to Folkestone and on to your UK address. Comfort stops every couple of hours, always.
Your pet needs a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport (issued in Spain) or an Animal Health Certificate. Dogs also need a tapeworm treatment recorded by a vet 24-120 hours before arriving in the UK. We send the full checklist at booking and verify every document before we reach the tunnel.
Most Alicante-UK flights only accept pets as manifest cargo, with weeks of crate training and handlers on both sides. Our drive-up service means no cargo terminal, no separation and no size or breed restrictions - and it works out kinder for older or anxious animals.
Your chauffeur collects you and your pet at your address in Alicante (Costa Blanca) at the time that suits you. From there it is a calm, direct drive of around 1182 miles - roughly 2 days with rest stops door to door - in a private, climate-controlled vehicle. Your dog or cat stays beside you the whole way: no cargo hold, no handovers and no other animals on board, with comfort stops whenever your pet needs one.
At the Eurotunnel terminal we handle the pet check-in together - the microchip scan and document check usually take about 15 minutes - then your pet stays with you in the car for the 35-minute crossing. On the other side we drive straight to your final address in Central London, whether that is a hotel, a new home or a family doorstep.
The fare for Alicante (Costa Blanca) to Central London is fixed before you book and starts from £2411. It covers the vehicle, your dedicated driver, tolls and as many comfort stops as your pet needs. The Eurotunnel ticket is paid separately at the terminal, and we never add weekend or holiday surcharges.
