London to Paris with a Pet: The Complete Door-to-Door Guide (2026)

Why London to Paris by road, not rail

Eurostar does not take pets, and airlines put most animals in the hold - so the only way to keep your dog or cat beside you from London to Paris is by road through the Channel Tunnel. The whole journey takes around five and a half hours door to door, and your pet never leaves your side. That is exactly why our door-to-door pet taxi exists: one private, climate-controlled vehicle, one dedicated DEFRA-authorised driver, and no handovers.

Meeting points: Euston, St Pancras and beyond

London is the UK's great rail meeting point, and most of our Paris-bound journeys start there. We collect from Euston, St Pancras International, King's Cross, Victoria and Paddington as easily as from homes and hotels - ideal if you are arriving by train from Manchester, Edinburgh or anywhere else before heading to Europe. Your chauffeur meets you on the concourse, helps with luggage and the carrier, and you are on the M20 within minutes. Heathrow and Gatwick pickups include live flight tracking.

The journey and the pet check-in

London to the Folkestone terminal takes about 1 h 30 min. At the Eurotunnel pet reception we scan the microchip and check documents together - around 15 minutes - then your pet stays in the car with you for the 35-minute crossing. From Calais, the A26 and A1 run straight to Paris in about three hours, with comfort stops whenever your pet needs one. We drop you at any Paris address, hotel or at Charles de Gaulle airport - Europe's own great meeting point - if you are flying onward.

Documents and pricing, in plain English

Travelling GB to EU, your pet needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate issued within 10 days of travel (or a valid EU-issued pet passport). No tapeworm treatment is needed this direction. The fare is mileage-based and fixed before you book - tolls included, the Eurotunnel ticket paid separately at the terminal. Send an enquiry with your date and addresses and we reply with your exact fixed quote, usually within a few hours.
