One vehicle, zero handovers
There is no practical train option with a pet between Amsterdam and London, and flying puts animals in the hold. A private transfer means boarding once in Amsterdam and stepping out at your London address around seven hours later - with your pet beside you throughout.
Planning the stops
We break the drive twice: typically near Antwerp and again before Calais. Both stops are at quiet motorway aires with grass - important for dogs, and a chance to offer water to cats in their carriers.
Documents across four countries
The Netherlands, Belgium and France all sit inside the EU pet travel scheme, so an EU pet passport covers the whole road leg. For UK entry you additionally need the dog tapeworm treatment recorded 24-120 hours before arrival. We check every page before leaving Amsterdam.
Why the two walk stops matter
Six and three-quarter hours is the longest run in our Benelux network, and the two planned stops are what make it kind rather than merely possible. The first, near the French border, comes about two hours in - a proper fifteen-minute leg-stretch on grass. The second, outside Calais, lets your pet toilet and drink before the check-in. Pets that arrive at the terminal relaxed sail through the document check.
The overnight option for senior pets
For elderly dogs, very young puppies or pets with medical needs, we can split the journey: an afternoon leg from Amsterdam to the Lille area, a night in a pet-friendly hotel we book for you, and a fresh morning run through the tunnel to London.
